One of my favorite artistic photography techniques is the use of Intentional Camera Movement or ICM. I decided on one of my garden outings to only shoot using ICM, which got me some strange looks and questions from passers-by. I named this piece After Life because this blue agave had bloomed which signals that the plant is dying. The range of colors and shapes as the plant decayed, and of the surrounding plants were an interesting subject for this technique. This image received a merit award from the Professional Photographers of California in 2022.
