Although roses are lovely at all stages of their life cycles, the stage where the bud is soft and gradually unfolding is the absolute best in my opinion. This particular rose which I shot at a local garden had a beautiful range of colors that really enhanced its softness. The colors at the heart of the bud that has yet to fully open really caught my eye. This bud just seems like the sort of place where if you were miniaturized you could curl up for a nice nap. The only question would be how to protect yourself from the bees that are certain to arrive.
