This lavender nymphaea or water lily was in a holding tank waiting to be placed in an outdoor pond. I was so excited to be able to capture it up close while daydreaming about an upcoming trip to France where I would visit Monet's Garden. Alas, when I arrived at Giverney the summer crowds made it impossible to capture any of these beauties for a close-up. Water lilies symbolize pleasure and peace, and the hues here are peaceful soft greens with various shades of lavender and periwinkle. Consider a satin paper or acrylic for this one.
